#4473 An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 35 of the City Code Regarding Human Rights (1st & 2nd
Reading)
Synopsis: This Ordinance amends Chapter 35 of the City Code to expand the authority and enhance the
structure of the Wilmington Civil Rights Commission to help protect and fulfill the full range of universal human rights as enumerated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and to locally
implement the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of
Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The Ordinance also provides more specific guidelines to govern
the Commission’s structure, composition and procedures.
