#4092 A Resolution Honoring the Delaware National Guard and Commemorating its
360th Anniversary
Synopsis: This Resolution is being presented by City Council for Council’s review and approval.
If approved, Council would be recognizing the 360th anniversary of the Delaware National
Guard’s service to the State of Delaware and the United States of America. The Resolution notes
that what is today the Delaware National Guard was founded in the 15th century as a militia
under the Swedish flag. The Resolution goes on to note that the Guard has fought bravely in
every major American conflict and commends Guard members who are living in Wilmington and
throughout the State of Delaware.
