of Veterans’ Day as a Paid Holiday for Eligible City Employees to the Eleventh
Day of November (1st & 2nd Reading)
Synopsis: This Ordinance is being presented by the Administration for Council’s review
and approval. This Ordinance amends Chapter 40 of the City Code to change the observation of Veterans’ Day as a paid holiday for eligible City employees from the fourth Monday in October to the eleventh day of November.

for Non-Union Employees in the Classified Service (1st & 2nd Reading)
Synopsis: This Ordinance is being presented by City Council for Council’s review and
approval. This Ordinance amends Chapter 40 of the City Code to eliminate
bumping rights for non-union employees in the classified service. It does not
affect any other rights provided to classified, non-union employees with respect to
the City’s seniority and layoff system. It also does not affect any rights provided
to union employees in the classified service with respect to the City’s seniority
and layoff system.
